Louisville police are still scrounging for tips about what happened the night of May 5 and early morning of May 6, hoping someone can provide a key piece that leads them to who killed Perez, who was a groom at the track for trainer Cecil Borel. Workers on the backside of the track, which is separated from the surrounding working-class neighborhood by a fence topped with razor wire, said in the days after Perez's death that people were talking about what happened.
